About working at the university
Radboud University contributes to a healthy, free world with equal opportunities for everyone. And for this purpose, we require people who can each make their own contribution to our study programmes and research. We work together to help students find their way and to ensure that science can progress. We do this in modern, green surroundings where the work environment is informal and colleagues are literally and figuratively within easy reach of each other.
You have a part to play.
At Radboud University, your knowledge and skills will be valued. You will be given the opportunity to take responsibility and show initiative. And if you wish to develop your potential, you will be given ample opportunity. You will also find that our terms of employment focus on your needs, which makes it possible for us to help you achieve a good work-life balance. What’s more, we offer a good salary and sufficient leave as well as other attractive terms of employment.
Our attractive employment conditions
As an employee, you can partly put together your own employment conditions using our Selection model. For example, it is possible to exchange income for extra holidays. We also have good regulations for working part-time, various forms of leave and flexible working hours.

The green campus is truly unique: There are not many organisations where several eateries, a greenhouse and a church are part of your work area.
Nardus Platenkamp is Team Lead Project & Program Management at the division Information & Library Services (ILS).
“16,000 people use Radboud University's wireless network simultaneously, day in and day out. Together with my colleagues, we ensure a high-quality network that is accessible to everyone, both on campus and from home. This way, employees can work well together and our students can study safely from anywhere. To make this possible, we work with new and complex technologies and have very capable specialists in our team. I enjoy the combination of people, technology and organisation in my role. We are committed to making the possibilities offered by IT available to support and facilitate research and education.
I have been working at Radboud University for 17 years now and still enjoy going to work every day (by bike). For me, the green campus is truly unique: There are not many organisations where several eateries, a greenhouse and a church are part of your work area. There is a friendly atmosphere, which makes it easy to approach anyone. The university is always in full development, which ensures sufficient challenge on a technical and organisational level. Continuous development creates opportunities for the IT department to be even closer to research and education. That is where I see real chances.”
I love it when I see students grow and take brave steps. As a teacher, I am grateful that I can and may help them with that.
Barbara van Riel is a teacher in Administrative Law and teacher-ambassador at the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre.
'For me, being a teacher is the best job in the world because I get to contribute something positive to the professional development of young people. I love it when I see students grow and take brave steps. As a teacher, I am grateful that I can and may help them with this.
I am also a teacher-ambassador for the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre. As a teacher-ambassador, I intend, together with my colleague Sandra Arntz, to inspire other teachers to get the best out of themselves. Because if you teach from knowledge and enthusiasm, with attention to yourself and others, this has a positive impact on our students. And that is ultimately what we aim for as teachers.
Being part of the Radboud Teaching and Learning Centre (TLC) gives an extra dimension to working at Radboud University. For example, the TLC's teachers' lounge is a place where teachers from all faculties meet, we are curious about each other's views and are open to new ideas about teaching and research on teaching. We also seek cooperation with other faculties, civil society organisations and, last but not least, our students. This inspires me, because good teaching transcends the individual and the walls of our campus.'

Nijmegen: Old city, young vibe
Radboud University is located in Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands, but young at heart. Nijmegen is well known for its festivals, music venues and cinemas. The large city parks and winding streets offer ample opportunity for scenic walks, while taking in the city’s historic buildings.
