Within Radboud Management Academy, we apply a unique business vision: the 3D model. From our unique vision, you will learn to reflect on the application of AI, data, digital innovation and transformation in organisations. At the same time, the programme helps you acquire practical competences. We do this in two parts:
Business Data Scientist
Data, we often have a lot of it, but how can this data be of value to your organisation? During the Business Data Scientist programme, you will learn how to bring about technological innovations or transformations in your organisation. This will help you work in an information-driven way and make informed decisions.
General
Part 1: In a composite team of participants, with complementary qualities in terms of data background, organisation, you work on a case study.
Part 2: You translate the knowledge and models from the training into your own practice. The aim here is to find a case of your organisation where business value is created by an improvement on one or more axes (3D model) using data.
Something for you?
- Effectively initiate, design and successfully implement data-based products, services and processes;
- Recognise and apply relevant techniques. You can collect, make available, analyse and unlock data. Likewise, you can apply AI;
- You ensure that data or AI solutions contribute to issues of the organisation, and bring this to the attention of decision makers.

Programme
Module 1: The business data scientist and the organisation
You start with the context of data science and the (business) data scientist. You will also learn about the different types of data, the process of data processing and acquisition, types of analysis, tools and applications. In addition, you will make a start with the case you will work on during the first modules.
Module 2: Data, artificial intelligence & machine learning
These days focus on data processing. You discuss the operation and application possibilities of AI and machine learning and making choices between the various techniques. The focus is always on the business value problem and how to create that value.
Module 3: Business Value
Everything comes together in this module: the relationship between the value for the organisation at tactical and strategic level, and the way data-driven projects, products and propositions can contribute to this. Based on various (data-driven) business models, you learn to better recognise the needs of the organisation and orient information processes accordingly.
Module 4: Tools & tactics of the business data scientist - part 1
You start by developing your own practical case. With that case, you test the applicability of your knowledge in your own organisation. Moreover, you will learn which individual tools you can use as a business data scientist to create value with the knowledge produced. Besides the substantive context, the social context of decision-making is also addressed.
Module 5: Tools & tactics of the business data scientist - part 2
In the concluding module, you look at bringing data to value from an organisational perspective. Which set-up models suit which organisation? And what organisational measures should be taken to structurally bring data to value in organisations? The ethics of data processing are also discussed.
Finally, you present your own case.
