AMID Masterclasses International Development
Are you or would you like to work within development cooperation? This series offers you the essential knowledge to improve the daily practice of international cooperation within your organization, agency or foundation.

What are the hot topics in international development? What makes organizations impactful? And how can we work toward more equal partnerships? In a series of 9 meetings you will learn the latest insights on the most important topics in international development. In each master class the focus is on interaction and in-depth discussion with an (international) academic expert and your fellow participants. You will be encouraged to apply the knowledge gained to your own daily practice, while exchanging experiences with professionals from different backgrounds.
AMID Masterclasses International Development is part of AMID, the training institute of the Radboud University that focuses on international cooperation and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Upon completion of this course:
- Have an understanding of the latest scientific knowledge on cross-cutting themes in international development;
- Know how development actors from the South and the North see and understand each other;
- Have learned how different types of actors (e.g., NGOs, foundations, governments) think and work;
- Have you been inspired to put what you have learned into practice;
- Has your network expanded;

Programme
Structure of the course
The AMID Masterclasses consist of 7 online meetings and2 workshops in Nijmegen of 2.5 hours duration. The working language is English. The workshops can also be attended online. In each master class an (international) scientific expert discusses a topic related to international development, such as 'The Partnership Paradox: Shifting the power' or 'Corruption and Ethics in International Development.

Dr. Willem Elbers
Lecturer Willem Elbers is program leader of AMID Master Classes International Development. He is also deputy chief educator of AMID Young Professional. He is committed to bridging the gap between science and practice in the field of international cooperation and collaborates with various organizations. He is convinced that knowledge is the basis for improvement and innovation in international cooperation.
This series is specially designed for people working for different types of organizations such as NGOs, government agencies and foundations. Usually we have people with different functions such as policy, communication and fundraising. If you like to gain new knowledge, be inspired and if you want to expand your network, this master class might be just what you are looking for! I hope to see you in the next series!
