My area of expertise is the interface of grammar and meaning in African languages. I currently investigate how people talk about sensory perception and the landscape in Avatime, a language spoken in Ghana. My other research interests include information structure, clause linkage and reported speech and thought.

I am part of the project 'Language as key to perceptual diversity', funded by the Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, headed by Niclas Burenhult (Lund, Sweden), with co-PI Asifa Majid (RU). Within this project, researchers from several disciplines come together to study human perception in different cultures.
