Marij Leenders PHD (b.1957) obtained her doctorate at the University of Utrecht with a thesis on the Dutch immigration and asylum policy in the period between 1815-1938: the process of state formation and political integration served as the explanatory background. From 1997-2002 she worked as research coordinator for Amnesty International, Department refugees. From 2002 till 2014 she was employed as researcher at the Centre for Parliamentary History and since 2008 she is also lecturer in Political History both Radboud University Nijmegen. In this period she worked on a research project - together with the German historian dr. Andreas Biefang: a comparison of the Parliamentary Public Sphere and visual culture in the Netherlands and Germany in the period 1918 till 1940. In January 2015 she has continued working as a lecturer at the Political History department and started with a new research job at the department of Religious History (emphasis on relation religion an politics) both Radboud University Nijmegen.
