Study programme Bachelor's Economics and Business Economics year 2
After the first year of Economics and Business Economics, you can choose from five specialisations to continue your studies in the second and third year. These specialisations will be more in depth than the first year. The specialisation International Economics and Management is a dual degree programme and will take four-and-a-half years to complete.
In comparison tot the Dutch programme Economie & Bedrijfseconomie, Economics and Business Economics offers two additional specialisations: International Economics & Business and the International Bachelor in Economics and Management. These specialisations are only available when choosing the English programme. Note: for the International Bachelor in Economics and Management there are additional entry requirements.
Specialisations
When studying International Economics and Business, you will be trained to become an expert in policies of multinational companies. You will study the role of human behaviour, culture and ethics on the financial position of companies. The focus will be on global markets and internationally-operating companies.
An obligatory semester of studying abroad is part of the programme: all students have to acquire international experience when studying this specialisation. The Nijmegen School of Management maintains a partner network with around 150 partner universities across the globe, so that you can choose between a large offer of different countries and cultures.

During the specialisation Business Economics, you will be provided with the skills and knowledge that is needed to become an expert in corporate financial management. You will be trained in accounting and corporate finance. The specialisation can be related to the professional fields of accountant, controller and financial managers. After graduating, you will be able to instruct managers on how to invest and acquire money. This will not just be based on financial information: you will be trained how to identify relevant information that affects financial affairs. In addition, you will be trained in strategy and marketing. You will have to learn bits and pieces of these fields to be able to cooperate successfully with project managers and other professionals during your career.
Although a specialisation with the same name is being offered in the Bachelor’s programme in International Business Administration, some courses of that specialisation differ from this one.
