Dr Jeroen Dera (1986) obtained his PhD in 2017, defending a dissertation on early book reviewing programs in the mass media of radio and television in the Netherlands. As a literary scholar specializing in institutional analysis, Dr Dera mainly focuses on literature education, book reviewing practices and contemporary Dutch poetry.
Dr Dera co-edited two recent volumes on contemporary poetry in the Netherlands and Flanders. He is also editor of the Flemish literary journal DW B and critic for the daily newspaper 'De Standaard'.
At Radboud University, Dr Dera coordinates the MA program 'Education in Language and Cultural Studies'. Lecturing in both the Faculty of Arts and the Teacher Training program, Dr Dera bridges the study of language and literature on the one hand, and educational sciences on the other.
