Remco Ensel publishes and is involved in the debate on the Holocaust, post-war commemoration of World War II and post-war antisemitism.
In addition, he investigates Dutch nationalism on the basis of how Dutchness is captured in images. especially in photography. New research focuses on the 'Jew'' as a stereotype on stage and on Jews as actors in the performing arts.
