Katherine Marcoux earned her AB in Linguistics and Languages from Bryn Mawr College. For her MS in Brain and Cognition at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra her research involved exploring the universality in personality impressions from brief, novel voices.
In February 2017, Katherine began her PhD project at Radboud University Nijmegen under the supervision of Mirjam Ernestus and Esther Janse through ENRICH, a European Training Network, funded by the European Commission through the Marie Skłodowska -Curie prorgamme. Her research focuses on how one clarifies their speech in a non-native language, the cognitive effort it takes, and why it may not be as effective as clarification by native speakers.
