Dr. Simone Ritter is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social and Cultural Psychology at the Radboud University Nijmegen. Ritter performs behavioral, virtual reality, neuroscientific and physiological research to broaden our understanding of the creative process and to enhance creative thinking. Besides her passion for fundamental research, she is interested in applied creativity research. Her research on creativity has led to (high impact) scientific publications, and has been discussed in (inter) national newspapers, radio-programs and magazines (e.g., National geographic, Psychology today). Moreover, she has contributed to several (inter) national TV programs and documentaries on creativity (e.g., BBC, Horizon ‘The creative brain: How insight works’). In 2014, she was awarded a Veni grant from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) with her project titled ‘What a Great Idea! Understanding and Improving the Selection of Creative Ideas’.
