I am a PhD student at the Communication & Media research group, part of the Behavioural Science Institute. I’m interested in the communication of scientific information and the processes that underlie this. Specifically, the project is summarised as follows:
Parts of the general public hold beliefs that are not based on scientific information, for instance regarding climate change and vaccine safety. The project has two main goals: The first is to find out how people stick to these beliefs when they are confronted with scientific information. The second is to find out how scientific information can be communicated to give it a fair chance in discussion of such topics.
