During a multi-day neurolinguistic programming (NLP) training course for professionals, I learnt, among other things, that by developing myself further, I can get an increasingly better understanding of who I am, what I want and what I stand for. I hold the wheel of my life, which me gives strength and confidence. In December 2022, I completed the Radboud University Leadership programme. Good leadership is key in my role as a manager at the programme office. Management is necessary to realise and advance the mission and strategy, and to ensure a high-quality HR policy and a healthy academic culture. As a manager, you play a crucial role in helping your team to achieve better results. I enjoyed spending three months dwelling extensively on the core of leadership, on conversation skills and on team collaboration, among other things. I redesigned my work processes and made valuable contacts with other team leaders, with whom I could share experiences.
My conclusion: professional and personal development go hand in hand towards developing your self-awareness, identity, talent and potential, enhancing your quality of life and realising your dreams. Both personally and professionally!
I am charting my own course, which gives me strength and confidence.
I am a naturally curious person. I am always open to new experiences, adventures or challenges. This makes me eager to move forward, to keep growing and thus to keep developing in all aspects of my life. By developing myself professionally and personally, I get more satisfaction from my work and private life. I am aware of what I have in me and what exactly I can improve. At the same time, this enriches my working environment and my contacts. It makes my life more attractive; after all, you spend much of your life working.
