Study programme Bachelor's Computing Science year 2
The second year consists of compulsory courses and specialisation courses. You extend your understanding of programming languages, algorithms, operating systems, multicore programming, and information systems. You learn how to do scientific research and write scientific documents. Furthermore, you also reflect on the impact of ICT in society. In the beginning of the year, you will choose two out of three specialisation tracks.

Course overview
The second year of Computing Science consists of 42 EC compulsory courses. In the second and third year, there is room for a specialisation according to your own interests. You will choose two out of three specialisation tracks: Data Science, Cyber Security and Software Science. Each track consists of 12 EC of courses, so 24 EC in total. In year 2 you complete 'one and a half' tracks (18 EC); the remaining part (6 EC) is done in your third year.

In the first period, you can choose between the courses Hacking in C, Operating System Concepts, and Semantics and Correctness. Two courses you will follow in the second year, the other one in the third year.
