Natural Computing and Neurotechnology
The track in Natural Computing and Neurotechnology studies the interaction between and within groups of neurons, and how they affect our interactions with the outside world.
About this study curriculum
In the Natural Computing and Neurotechnology track, you’ll gain knowledge of the anatomical and neurophysiological aspects of networks in the human brain and the techniques for the computational analysis and modelling of brain networks. This will enable you to conduct independent research into the neurofunctional architecture of cognitive key functions, such as perception, attention, memory, language, planning and targeted actions and develop technologies to measure, characterise and model networks at the whole brain level and/or the local cortical circuit.
As a student of the track in Natural Computing and Neurotechnology, you must choose 18 ECs of the following seven courses:

- Quantitative Brain Networks
- Complex Adaptive systems
- AI for Neurotechnology
- Cognition and Complexity

- Researchers in Nijmegen combine new techniques for electrophysiological and anatomical measurements of connectivity and activation with data analysis and the experimental application of these techniques.
- Exceptional students who choose this track have the opportunity to do a double degree programme with either Neurophysics or Artificial Intelligence. This will take three instead of two years.

In total, you have to choose 12 EC of elective courses. You can choose to do all of these courses in your first or in your second year; or you can distribute them across the two years. This is entirely up to you. For your elective space you may choose any Master level course. You may thus choose electives from outside your track, or choose to do extra skill training courses or choose to do courses from other programmes (e.g., Behavioural Science or Artificial Intelligence programmes). Furthermore, the courses stated above you may also choose as elective courses
