You can choose from the following 3 groups:
Group A
This course takes place from 7 October until 2 December 2024. There is no class in the week of 21 October because of the Autumn Break.
Class day and time: Mondays from 3.30 - 5.00 pm

Group B
This course takes place from 7 October until 2 December 2024. There is no class in the week of 21 October because of the Autumn Break.
Class day and time: Mondays from 7.45 - 9.15 pm

Group C
This course takes place from 9 October until 4 December 2024. There is no class in the week of 21 October because of the Autumn Break.
Class day and time: Tuesdays from 6.00 - 7.30 pm
Location: On campus in Nijmegen

Approach and content
Spanish is spoken as much as possible during classes, with Dutch and English as the supporting languages. This means that in most cases, you can take this course if you do not speak Dutch. Please contact our Service Centre for more information.
You should count on about three to four hours of individual study per week.
What will the classes cover?
Skills
- You will learn to introduce yourself: your name, your age, where you are from, what work you do
- You will learn to say what you like and why, and what you do on particular days of the week
- You will learn things you need while travelling, such as words about geography, the seasons and the weather
- You will learn to make yourself understood while shopping: what clothes are there, what colours and sizes, how do I find out the price and can I haggle?
Grammar
We cover a range of topics in the Spanish halfway to A1 course, including grammar:
- Using Spanish definite articles (el, la, los and los) and indefinite articles (un, una, unos and unas), and the differences between these and Dutch ones
- Using personal pronouns in Spanish
- The important verbs Ser, Estar and Tener, and conjugating these in the present tense
- Conjugating regular and irregular Spanish verbs in the present tense
- Using and conjugating nouns and adjectives based on their gender and whether they are singular or plurar
- Using porque, para and por
- Using qué, cuál and cuáles
- Using demonstrative pronouns (including este, esta, eso).
