Taxes for the very richest
"Which of you would like to pay more taxes?" With that question, ethicist Marcel Becker opened the evening. A few raised a finger. This highlighted how extraordinary it was that a group of super-rich people had called on their government in a letter to tax them more. But how exactly would that work? Would it make sense? And why do we pay taxes in the first place? Legal philosopher Ronald Tinnevelt and tax lawyer Diana van Hout shed light on this in two short lectures, then engaged in discussion with Marcel Becker.
